Tamworth 46 lost to Maitland 63
Tamworth welcomed Maitland to the Tamworth Sports Dome, but the Mustangs were in no mood to be polite guests. The visitors took a five point lead into halftime, which they duly converted into a 17 point win on the back of 15 points from Hannah Fox and solid outings from Janica Duncombe and Rachel Williams, who also finished in double figures. Former Newcastle player Taylor Skelton was Tamworth’s top scorer with 13 points, but had little scoring help from the remainder of the Thunderbolts team.
St George 28 lost to Bathurst 74
St. George were always unlikely to offer much of a test for a Bathurst side featuring a number of players more suited to SEABL than Waratah Division 1, and it proved as much as the visitors romped to a 46 point win. The Goldminers came out firing and quickly established a double-figure lead which extended to 42-14 by halftime. The second half was more of the same as former SEABL player Haylee Lepaio finished with 12 points and 2016 Championship winning point guard Sophie Kleeman tallied 16 points. Bathurst were led by Claire Woolmington though, who finished with 26 points to almost outscore the opposition. Karen Bulmer was St. George’s lone double figure scorer, finishing with 14 to account for half of her team’s total.
